Backyard Makeover

This spring we did a little backyard makeover. In the back corner of our yard we had some old raised beds where I couldn’t grow much but weeds. We wanted to create a nice dining and sitting area complete with a fire pit.

First we had to remove 7 cubic yards of dirt. Unfortunately due to timing issues we had to do it on one of the rainiest days of the year.

By the end of the second day we had removed all the dirt we planned to haul away.

After our big fence was redone we were able to remove the small fence and redistribute the rest of the dirt around the yard.

Now we move in the gravel.

After the gravel Jim was able to build the fire pit.

We added plants in pots and some bistro lights.

We love our space. It is very peaceful to sit out there and enjoy a meal and a fire.

What a wonderful project. I loved the sequence of photos to track progress.
