18 for 2018

I am not a big believer in New Year’s resolutions. They always feel like they have to be big life-changing things that are not realistically achieved. Instead, I like the idea of goals or things you want to accomplish. I was listening to Gretchen Rubin’s “Happier” podcast and she was creating an 18 for 2018 list with her sister. It sounded like an interesting thing to try. I know we are more than half way into January, but at least it is still January, right? So here goes.

  1. Try at least one new recipe per week.
  2. Whenever possible have the laundry folded and put away by Sunday evening.
  3. Have a one-on-one date with each boy each month.
  4. Continue to learn about my enneagram type and how I can better relate to others.
  5. Work to appreciate Will’s speed of completing activities and build it into our schedules.
  6. Take an Excel programming course.
  7. Finish my remodel scrapbook.
  8. Use Instagram more and learn about the stories feature.
  9. Get together with Dana at least once a month.
  10. Golf with the boys once a month during the summer.
  11. Keep flowers in the pot on the front porch year-round (need to start this now since there currently isn’t anything in it).
  12. Expand my herb garden this summer.
  13. Post on the blog at least once a week.
  14. Have a date night at least once a month with Jim.
  15. Clean out and organize my closet.
  16. Vacuum or wipe out all the kitchen cabinet drawers.
  17. Organize and merge contact lists from old email accounts and update addresses.
  18. Keep my DSLR out and take photos with it more often.
